Daniel has extensive experience in AdTech, MarTech, and SaaS, actively supporting companies in these sectors as they scale and secure market leadership. Matthew is the Co-Founder and Managing General Partner of Plaza Ventures. As an accomplished venture capitalist, he brings decades of experience in managing firm operations, leading deal flow and transactions, fostering ecosystem growth, and building strong investor relationships.

Matthew serves on the boards of several companies, including StackAdapt, and contributes his expertise to various incubators, accelerators, investment committees, and charitable organizations. He is a former Board Member of the Canadian Venture Capital Association and continues to play an active role in the innovation community as a member of the MaRS IAF Investment Committee, Co-Chair of the CIX Top 20 Awards Committee, and Mentor at both Techstars Toronto Accelerator and Creative Destruction Lab. Additionally, as an Advisor at NEXT Canada, Matthew is dedicated to mentoring the next generation of entrepreneurs.

A sought-after speaker and guest lecturer, Matthew frequently shares insights on Venture Capital and the Private Equity ecosystems. His passion for supporting emerging businesses also extends to his role as an active angel investor.

Earlier in his career, Matthew was a key leader at B.E.S.T. Funds, where he successfully structured and managed numerous growth-tech finance deals, consistently delivering double-digit returns. His contributions also included co-founding multiple funds.

Matthew holds an Honors Bachelor’s degree from the University of Toronto, a Master of Science from the University of New South Wales, and a Master of Laws from the University of Oxford. 

Dan is a seasoned finance executive with deep expertise in corporate finance, tax structuring, and operational leadership. He brings a strong track record of advising and scaling multinational and high-growth technology companies.
Prior to joining PV, Dan was the finance leader of a high-growth SaaS company, where he scaled operations and led the successful strategic sale of the business to a private equity firm. He has also served as a trusted financial and strategic advisor to a range of early- and mid-stage technology companies, guiding them through key phases of growth and transformation.

As a General Partner at PV, Dan works closely with finance teams across the firm’s portfolio to strengthen core finance functions, enhance metrics tracking, and improve governance. Dan also plays a central role in investment management, collaborating with PV’s partners to drive performance and deliver exceptional returns to investors.

Dan holds an Honours Business Administration (HBA) degree and an MBA from the Ivey Business School. He is both a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and a Chartered Accountant (CA).

Jake is a corporate lawyer turned investor with a strong foundation in advising companies across complex legal, financial, and strategic matters. Before joining Plaza Ventures, he practiced at a top Bay Street law firm in Toronto, where he worked across both private equity and venture capital transactions—advising on private M&A deals as well as supporting high-growth, venture-backed technology companies. This dual exposure allows him to bring a balanced perspective to PV’s multi-strategy approach, spanning growth equity, secondaries, and private equity.

As an Investment Associate at Plaza Ventures, Jake is involved across the full investment lifecycle — sourcing, evaluating, and executing new investments. He leads diligence efforts and deal execution, manages LP reporting, and works closely with portfolio companies on strategic initiatives to support growth, streamline operations, and prepare for key milestones such as financings, M&A, or IPOs.

Jake holds an Honours Business Administration (with distinction) from the Ivey Business School and a Juris Doctor from Western Law.

Adam is a Chartered Professional Accountant, Chartered Business Valuator, and investor with extensive experience advising public and private companies. Prior to joining PV, he acted as a financial advisor at a large multi-national public accounting firm in Toronto, where he advised clients on buying or selling businesses, raising debt/refinancing, financial modelling, and valuations. Adam also has experience in corporate development and assurance services.

As an Investment Associate at PV, Adam is responsible for conducting due diligence and valuation analysis on prospective investments. Additionally, he researches market trends and helps identify new investment opportunities. Adam also manages tracking the progress of PV’s portfolio companies by analyzing their board materials and quarterly reports.

Maria is the Office Manager at Plaza Ventures, where she plays a vital role in overseeing day-to-day operations, managing administrative functions, and coordinating both internal and external events. She also supports investor relationship management, serving as a key point of contact and ensuring clear, consistent communication.

With a background in Business Management and Marketing from Centennial College, Maria brings a detail-oriented, people-focused approach to fostering an organized, collaborative, and efficient workplace. She is known for her strong communication skills, proactive mindset, and ability to support cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

As a Junior Accountant at Plaza Ventures, Nechama supports the enhancement and streamlining of accounting processes across the firm’s venture operations. She oversees day-to-day accounting workflows, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timely financial reporting.

With over a decade of experience in audit and real estate accounting, Nechama brings a strong foundation in financial operations, internal controls, and regulatory compliance. She studied at Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) and is currently pursuing her accounting designation at Sheridan College, further advancing her professional expertise and commitment to excellence in the field.
