Plaza Ventures Makes Equity Investment in a.p.i. Alarm Inc., Canada’s Largest Privately Owned Security Solutions Provider
TORONTO, ON — Plaza Ventures (“PV”), a Canadian investment firm focused on technology and technology-enabled businesses, recently completed an equity investment in a.p.i. Alarm Inc. (“a.p.i. Alarm” or the “Company”), Canada’s largest privately owned and operated full-service security solutions provider. The investment was completed concurrently with a $242.5 million syndicated refinancing, with the senior debt portion led by J.P. Morgan, and closed on May 28, 2026.

Alarm Inc. is Canada’s largest privately owned and operated full-service security solutions provider and alarm monitoring network, offering a wide range of products and services across residential, commercial & government verticals through a nationwide network of monitored accounts. The Company offers a comprehensive suite of solutions including intrusion detection, video surveillance, access control, fire and life safety monitoring, personal emergency response systems (PERS), and smart home automation. Through its investments in advanced monitoring technology and AI-enabled security solutions, a.p.i Alarm leverages intelligent video analytics, automated threat detection, and real-time monitoring capabilities to enhance customer safety, reduce false alarms, and improve operational efficiency across its platform. The Company conducts both wholesale (third-party) and retail (directly owned) monitoring.
